      Very short, but they can learn (like their owner’s voice), and it’s not as short as everyone says (seven seconds).

      I think goldfish have been shown to remember things for months.

      My wife studied the behaviour of fish for her PhD. She tells me that they have pretty good memories, can be trained to do simple tasks and will recognise their feeder coming to the tank.
