• Question: Define science?

      I think that science is a way of thinking about things. Its a way of looking at what is happening and trying to explain it. Science is only useful when this explanation can be used to predict other events.

      How things work, why things work. Everything is science. Even art and philosophy, because human thought comes from science, and paints are the colours they are because of chemistry. Science covers all the fundamentals of our lives, from how we got here, to what we eat, to what we do.
      Science is AMAZING!
      I agree there is a field of study called Science which is what Tom describes, but I think the actual THING that science is stretches much much further than that. We don’t really as yet have another name for all of it, do we?

      Science is the tool that man uses to understand things. It’s a method where you come up with an idea about why something ‘is’, work out some experiment that you can perform to test your idea, then do the experiment to see if you’re right. If you’re not, you go back to the start and try another idea.

      I do like Pip’s way of thinking about it though.
