• Question: Can you use lasers to cut hair? Do you think that this will become more widespread in salons around the world? Also, would it hurt? Thanks!

There is a chance of setting the hair alight (very smelly), and also the lasers are more expensive than scissors, oh, and you should probably wear goggles too. It may not become popular, but it would work.

It would only hurt if you managed to burn the skin.

The other problem about using a laser to cut hair is that it is difficult to stop the beam, so you might accidentally cut off more than you meant to. Very bad news if you’re trying to get a nice haircut.
