• Question: what is australia like

      Great place. Looks and feels a bit like the US (big sprawling cities, need a car), but filled with Europeans rather than Americans! Though I was last there in 2001, so it might have changed a bit. I thought hard about trying to emigrate there in the early-mid 90s, but never quite took the plunge – partly ‘cos of how far I would have been from my brother and my parents. Definitely worth going for a spell if you ever get the chance.

    I have no idea I am afraid as I’ve never been. It is on my bucket list of places to visit though!

    I’ve only been on holiday a long time ago, I mostly went to the countryside, and loved that, very beautiful, lots of different wildlife and opportunities to take part in different activities, like scuba-diving, hiking, kayaking, horseriding etc. It was very laid-back in Sydney in comparison to London.

    I spent most of my time in Australia (about 6 months in all, split over several trips) working in Sydney, which is a really great city. One of the three cities I’ve visited I wish I had the chance to live in properly for a while, the others being San Francisco and Boston in the US (also both on the sea!). Also went to Noosa, North Queensland and the Barrier Reef, but those were holidays.
