I play Badminton with friends at work. I also play cricket at my local club – its a womens’ club. And, I go mountain biking too! This keeps me pretty busy :o)

I used to do tae kwon do, a Korean martial art a lot like karate, but with more kicking! These days though I don’t have so much time but I still like to go to the gym three times a week where I do a lot of weight training and power lifting (like they do in the Olympics but I use less weight!).

I have to admit than other than the odd class down the gym and cycling to and from work everyday (and sometimes long cycles rides at weekends) I do no sport.

Actually reading that maybe I should say I do no team sports – it’s not something I was ever any good at, I have a tendency for my mind to wander, I’m thinking about how something works and before you know it the ball is heading my way, usually straight for my head! For the protection of my brain, I have given up on these things 🙂

Having said that I was on my school hockey team (ball generally stays on the ground 🙂 )

I play basketball. Actually I’m kind of good at it, and I used to play every single day when I was in school. I also play a bit of football sometimes but don’t think I’m very good at that! When I was in school also played gaelic football but not for years. When I was doing loads of study for exams and writing my thesis (the big book you have to write to get to be called “Doctor”) I made sure I always played basketball as it is really good for your brain to play sport! And it helps get rid of stress and sends happy hormones shooting around your body. 🙂

I compete in Archery for my local club, and also i am a keen ice skater, although i just do this for fitness and nothing competitive.
It keeps me fit and healthy, which allows me more room to eat all my experiments!! 🙂
