• Question: is it possible to create a self sufficient submarine?

      A robotic submarine fitted with solar panels would be able to come to the surface to recharge it’s batteries and would be able to run for a very long time. Though eventually it would break down when moving parts wear out.

      Large submarines already have amazing equipment to recycle air (by removing carbon dioxide) and drinking water. In this way, submarines are a lot like space travel! Having a contained renewable food source isn’t so easy though perhaps the people in the submarine could catch fish!
