Lasers mounted on ships have already been used in military experiments to destroy missiles so, in that way, they’re already possible. Maybe one day they’ll be small enough to use by hand.

Yes, definitely, as they already exist! They are not hand-held like on Star Trek, but I’m sure they could be made with a few ideas on how to make them smaller.

Yes, there are amazingly powerful lasers around now, they just need to be miniaturised as they are a bit too big at the moment!

But we would need them if UFO’s came with extreemly advanced tecnolagy.

rwn1 you are thinking ahead! I have thought about this before and I wonder if lasers would be much use if aliens came to visit us. If they could get here it would mean they came a LONG way and so must be WAY MORE advanced than us, and would easily be able to destroy us. But if they were that advanced hopefully they would also be enlightened and friendly. What do you think?
