      Yes, at every step of the analysis I have done I spend most of the time (even days) checking for the accuracy of the data. Really boring job but extremely necessary!

      Yes, the data at CERN goes through several levels of calibration to make it “cleaner”.

      Absolutely! Your data needs to be accurate otherwise how are people meant to believe your results? If a scientist isn’t absolutely confident in their answer, they’ll work and work until the truth is found – good or bad!

      I’m an astrophysicist, so the short answer is no, our data is not accurate at all!

      That being said, we can be quite clever at making it less terrible (which is my job) and at making sure we say exactly how terrible it is, so that when we reahc our conclusions, we can say mathematically how confident we are
