Oh, it changes every so often! 😀
At the moment it is San Diego in the US. But there was a time I liked Bochun in Germany. I am also looking forward to going at some point to Asia, maybe China!
When I was a PhD student, we were encouraged to attend conferences and present our work. It was pretty scary to be learning and presenting in front of important scientists, but it was a really valuable experience. Conferences tend to be held in different places around the world in different years. I had colleagues who got to go to France, Italy, Australia and America….I got to go to Crieff in Scotland! It was beautiful, though, even if not terribly exotic! I have travelled to lots of interesting places around the world, including Africa and India but mostly not as part of my career. When I have travelled with my STEM job, I haven’t go to see much of the place I’m in as it’s always so busy! Travelling with work is definitely not the same as a holiday!
