Question: What is your favourite bird

My favourite birds is the European nightjar! I studied them for my PhD – so for four years – and I found out loads of great things about them, like how their middle claw has evolved into a tiny comb to brush their feathers with, and how they know if they match their background or not, so they can find the best place to camouflage themselves.
They’re really beautiful, even though they’re essentially ‘just brown’ – but they’re all sorts of brown! Brown, and grey and even gold in parts. They’re wonderful.
