      Hey,

So in my specific job a Forensic research is part of the research team developing new techniques and making sure they are fit for purpose for the casework team. The casework team are the guys who work on criminal justice forensic work. A Forensic Analyst is the the lowest level in the casework team, it means you are supervised by a case officer for a period of time, usually about 2 years, helping them on their cases until you are deemed ready to become a case officer and get your own cases.
Not every Forensic company will do it this way, this is just how my team do it, and it works well as you have the opportunity to learn before you are given your own cases.

      Hope that helps 🙂
