      Pathogens/chemicals that are foreign to the body and cause an immune response are called antigens. Certain white blood cells, called lymphocytes, can produce specific antibodies to kill a particular pathogen.

      I would agree. You can even substitute ‘antigen’ for the word ‘target’, and thinking of them as targets of the immune system makes it easier to understand.
