      In science? Definitely the struture and function of DNA! It has allowed us to understand how genetic information is passed on but also how to manipulate that information (such as CRISPR).
      In technology? It’s got to be the internet. I’m old enough to remember life before the internet, and believe me it’s changed our lives completely!

      It’s hard to pick one. The DNA and internet as mentioned by Ben for example. I’d go back a bit further and say the microscope, it allowed us to see a whole new world beyond what our eyes could tell us.
