Hahaha, Harry Potter is the best! That’s a cool question. We use irradiation for two purposes. The first is to introduce genetic mutations in cells. Sometimes these mutations have interesting effects which we can study and learn more about the cells. The second is to reduce the white blood cell count in mice. This is a bit like wiping the memory of their immune system. It doesn’t make them sick but it gives as an opportunity to understand how their immune systems work.
Wow! That seems so fascinating, it’s interesting to see irradiation in a different insight because I’ve learnt about food irradiation, thank you for that! Haha And I’m a GRYFFINDOR. Hp, always.
