Sometimes work can be repetitive – especially if doing a large experiment which involves pipetting up, and down, and up, and down, again and again! It is very normal to get bored at work, the key is not to be bored 100 % of the time. Luckily in science there are always very many different jobs to do so if you get bored doing one, you can always move on to the next.
When I worked in a lab, sometimes we had experiments that lasted hours and I did get a bit bored. We had music in the lab and drank a lot of tea, or wrote up experiments. Now I’m in a desk job, i don’t get any spare time (but still drink a lot of tea).
