Question: -When breastfeeding, the mother passes immunity to the baby?

I listened to a very interesting seminar on this topic last week while at a conference in Italy. Yes, basically, the mother does pass antibodies and immune-protective oligosaccharides to the baby while nursing. We don’t fully understand how it all works, but it is fair to say formula does not mimic what babies get from their mom’s breast milk very well.
