• Question: In the future do you believe that the immune system will evolve so much that we will not have any problems with diseases?

      Hi dr. siddiqi,

      I don’t think that will ever be the case. Maybe we could go live on other planets where there are not any bacteria that could do us harm (not sure about that situation being likely!) but really the bacteria/virus/disease causing pests adapt and evolve at a much quicker rate than us slow-to-mutate human beings do. Our best bet in my humble opinion is to get better vaccines design and testing processes established so we have a seamless pipeline of candidates and testing and strategy set up in place when a new disease agent arises.

      Quite simply no. Evolution is a dynamic process that doesn’t stop and as we evolve everything else co-evolves
