      Hi llya-Shneider,

We are basic scientists focused on development and design. We have our vaccine candidates tested in animal models. Once they are good enough and show protection in animal models, they progress through to clinical trial. I am not involved in the vaccine from that point on, but am involved in generating new ideas and new candidates to try. It takes decades to get a vaccine into people usually, there are a huge amount of rules and regulations and safety checks very rightly in place.

So no, none I have made thus far have gone into humans, but it is still early days! Maybe by the time I am 40 I will have a vaccine into human trials if I keep working hard.

      Cheers!
      Carmen
