Sorry too many to remember after so many years of lecturing but generally speaking they are the sort of questions where a student has seen a particular medial problem from a view point that I hadn’t really considered or asked a “what if” question. Sometimes I can work it out standing in front of 200 or more students other times I simply tell them that it is a really interesting question and that I will go a do some thinking and research and answer them when I next see them. One thing I have learnt is that these sort of questions show that a student has really understood what I have been teaching which makes me feel good. I have learnt to say I don’t know rather than try and fudge and answer. No one knows everything even in their specialist subject!
