Question: How close are we to a cure for Type 1 diabetes?

Its the perennial question- and there have been many false dawns around this. Having said that, recent research based on immunology looks pretty promising- so we are all keeping our fingers crossed on this one!
I would say 5-7 years- but as mentioned, fingers crossed as translation from lab research to successful human trials has always been a quantum leap!
