I wanted an adventure. I was excited about the idea of going to a place that I could hardly even imagine, where not many people get to go and finding out some really important and useful information.

Plus, I liked the idea of all the fun things you get to do when you have time off. So far I’ve tried snowboarding, skiing, kiteboarding, snow mobiling, exploring icebergs from a boat, ice climbing and rock climbing. Some people even go diving under the frozen sea to investigate how the marine biology is reacting to warming oceans. There are all sorts of weird an wonderful creatures like giant sea spiders and sea cucumbers. My favourite is a bright yellow spongy creature called a sea lemon.

Would you like to go to Antarctica? What would you like to do here, for work and for fun?
