• Question: What is the most intresting thing you have ever learnt about the brain?

      A year or so ago some guys I was working with in Amsterdam and Budapest showed for the first time ever that new-born babies have a sense of rhythm!

      They were able to measure the brain activity of babies just a few hours old (using VERY gentle techniques on happily sleeping babies) which showed that building up a musical beat in our head and spotting when it changes is something we can do from the minute we are born even when we are sleeping.

      (a) how amazing is that!

      (b) this just happens to be in my special area of interest 🙂

    Thank You Very Much, thats really intresting, In the future I would really like to know about how old the embryo has to be before it can register thoughts and I’d really like to investigate how the babies brain functions and grows.
