      That is a SERIOUSLY difficult question to answer because nobody knows the whole story.

      Here is the two minute version!

      Your brain is made up of cells – like most of the rest of you 🙂

      These cells comunicate with each other VERY quickly by sending out little pulses called “spikes”.

      Everything in your mind, your memories, your thoughts, your emotions, your dreams … every thought in your head is a pattern of these little pulses.

      The cells can fire up to 1000 times a second and there are about 1 000 000 000 000 000 of them so the patterns are very complicated!
