That is a tricky one. I was thinking about silly things like it is not shaped like the heart you draw in a cartoon or that it doesn’t have feelings (i.e. when we feel something we don’t feel in the heart) but I don’t think people have those misconceptions anymore, so I will keep thinking and see if I can come up with something. I am asking in my lab as well!
A BIG misconception is that heart disease is a disease of men. As many women die of heart disease as of breast cancer, but that’s not widely recognised by the public.
