I’ve always loved science. I still love getting my lab coat and goggles on and feeling like a proper scientist. I think our world is amazing, and that human beings are incredible creatures, and I think I’ve always really just been a bit nosy! I want to know why the world works the way it does, why humans work the way they do.

I love psychology in particular as it helps me to understand other people. People are weird; there are no other creatures on earth who stay up all night worrying about something that hasn’t happened and might never happen, yet everyone has done that at some point. I wanted to work out why that is, what makes us behave in a way that we know is silly or bad for us, but we do it anyway! I didn’t really discover psychology or the very specific part of psychology I now work in until I was in my late teens, but I think I knew I wanted to do something with science from when I was pretty small.

I didn’t think of being a scientist until one day someone pointed out to me. My Professor who is my supervisor at Uni kept giving me feedback about my way of thinking and helped me to look at myself as a scientist.

My upbringing was key as I always in the family looking for ways to improve stuff for the family home. Trial and error come to mind!

I like to think of myself who likes to ask questions and listen to their answer and go from there. I suppose that it is science!
