I think my upbringing, as being in that carer role, a lot of people expected me to have the answers and I didn’t but as I got older I studied but I got interested in how we can change it.

Not a particular event. I think I’m just quite a naturally nosy person, so I wanted to know why people think and behave the way that they do! I also remember having counselling as a child to help me cope with anxiety, as did my mum, and so I saw first hand the benefit that good psychological support can have. I think a combination of those two things meant that I was interested in psychology from quite an early age. I then did my A level psychology and had an amazing teacher who really inspired me in the area, and that really cemented my career choice.
