      Your eyes are green because you have inherited the “green eye code” or gene from one or both of your parents!

      I’ve just used eye colour as an example of something called epigenetics, basically how our DNA (the blueprint of our cells) is controlled. This is the other reason why your eyes are green, the gene (or maybe genes) for green eye colour is turned on in your eye, but it isn’t turned on anywhere else (hence why you don’t have green skin!).
