Question: How do you test the equipment to make sure the patient gets the correct amount of radiation?

We perform lots of different tests depending on what equipment we are using. If we had an xray machine, then we would try out all the different settings on it (by changing things like the voltage and current) and then check what the dose is. Each test we do has a range of values which our result has to lie between. We also make sure the images the equipment gives us are of a good enough quality that the doctors would be able to tell what is wrong with the patient. If the images were rubbish then we would need perform all our tests again!
