Carbapenem group of drugs are the best medicines to treat bacterial infections as they are relatively non toxic. This is the one we also call as last resort medicine as we don’t have a lot of drugs left to fight infections. Thank you

The best medicine is the one that is most suited to the condition you are treating.
If you have a bacterial infection, antibiotics would be the best medicine to cure it.
If you have a cold, paracetamol won’t cure it but it would be the best medicine to help you feel better.
Chemotherapy is the best medicine to treat cancer. -

The best medicine depends on what you are trying to treat. There are many different illnesses which respond to different medicines.

In a lot of ways, linking to previous answers, the best medicine is having well trained professionals, of having all the brilliant scientists such as those you are talking to that;
-help discover and develop the medicines described (antibiotics, chemo, etc)
-provide the information to make sure the right treatments are used
-select the correct medicine for the disease found
-help to look after, and monitor, whilst the medicine is used. -

The best medicine – this will depend on what is wrong with a patient, and your Doctor will decide this based on their experience, knowledge and guidance provided by experts.

As everyone has said, the best medicine will be dependent on the illness or condition! Even then, people all respond differently to medicine, and this can be due to the person’s DNA. Where I work, we sequence the DNA of patients to make sure that certain types of chemotherapy will work effectively and safely for them.

Along with others – it changes dependent on the condition.
But across all conditions I would say communication. Good communication between healthcare staff and patients is the most important part of healthcare.

It really depends on what you need the medicine for. Different medicines work best for different things.

If there’s one thing that was drilled into me from a young age it was that regardless of the medicine a spoonful of sugar will always help it go down

I would say laughter, however the best medicine is probably the one that helps a patient get better without any side effects.
