The investigative part of the work. Being able to make diagnosis of why a patient is feeling unwell and monitoring the effectiveness of treatment.

The main thing I like is using my scientific knowledge and skills to help people. My job gives me that as I help patients get MRI scans safely and make sure the doctors get the pictures they need to diagnose the patients

I love the fact that I make difference in someone’s life / well-being. I get to learn about different types of diseases, their symptoms and their treatments. Which means I am always learning something new and exciting. My another favourite aspect is investigation, specially when things don’t add up. It is interesting, fascinating and amusing profession.

      Every day is different.
Science is always evolving and changing, and there are new technologies being developed all the time that help me to do my job better.
I enjoy the projects I do in my job to evaluate these new technologies so we can implement them in patient care.

People don’t necessarily like coming into hospital that I can hopefully make this easier through the help I can provide is really rewarding. It is also amazing to work in a field that doesn’t stand still, science is always moving forward which is really fascinating and challenging.

No two days are the same, there is always something different happening, and always a new problem to solve. I really like that I have to be creative and sometimes think outside of the box to fix problems. I also enjoy working as a part of a large team at a hospital.

I think for me it’s just being able to find actual enjoyment in my work and being able to do something I’m interested in. I had a whole bunch of different part time jobs while a student and it’s much easier to go to work every day when you care about the things you’re doing! Also my type of work allows for a lot of travel and for me to ask very interesting questions that I find fulfilling, it’s still odd to think of myself as a ‘scientist’ as that’s never where I thought I’d end up while in school!

I like fluid problem solving. Its great to have multiple challenges that change almost every day and work on solving these issues as they come up. There is also time for longer more investigative works that require a slower and more thought out type of problem solving.

I have never worn a suit to work. In fact 99% of the time I wear trainers.
