No day is the same – but I start off the day looking at my diary or meeting with my secretary. Then meeting with members of my team , talking to patients , carers , family members as well as other professionals involved in the care of my patients. I also attend a variety of meetings involving my patients – for example – mental health tribunal hearing – which are like court proceedings for patients who have been detained in hospital – kind of a safeguard to ensure detention meets the law requirements + patients are represented by a solicitor.
I also attend other meetings aimed at improving the care of my patients . Some days I am involved in the teaching and training of students and health professionals . I also do a bit of work on projects / initiatives related to health care etc .
