Every sample we have is a patient – so we want to make sure that the results we release are accurate and go to the right person. We currently have around 7000 “patients” a day come into the laboratory – so we are always busy.

With a really good team, beyond that of scientists, to make sure that patients can be seen as they are needed. So that anyone that needs something urgently can be seen quicker.

There are a lot! We try to make our MRI scans faster so we can scan more patients in a day

My lab uses a lot of automated analysers to help process all the samples – every sample is from a different patient, and we can work on over 1.5 million samples a year! We’re always very busy, and the automation makes it a lot easier to manage.

I don’t work with patients but I support scientists that do. So by helping scientists develop I can help them be better with patients.
