We aren’t exactly sure how life started. It would seem that the right mixture of chemicals, conditions (e.g. heat/water/oxygen) and chance led to the creation of a new thing that was able to make more of itself. That thing was probably really similar to DNA and it would have survived long enough to spill out into the surrounding environment. From there we can use the theory of evolution to determine how all the different types of life began to appear.

There are researchers who try and work this out. There is a theory called the primordial soup, which is the idea that all things for life were together in a swamp like environment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primordial_soup

I second Robbie on this one. No one is exactly sure, but it seems like the right chemicals came together under the right conditions and made something which could replicate itself, which I think is pretty cool! 🙂

We don’t really know, if you can find it out then you’d go down in history!
