      Yes – washing hands can kill bacteria on the skin – however we have bacteria all over our bodies that help protect us.

      The problem is if the bacteria get into the wrong places – that is what can then make us poorly.

      Yes support important to make sure that we wash both bacteria and viruses from our hands, especially before we eat.

      Yes, washing your hands will kill the bacteria on them – it’s especially important to make sure you wash your hands after you’ve been to the toilet, and before you eat.

      There are loads of other bacteria all over our skin, which is perfectly normal and a good thing – they’re supposed to be there and they help protect us against lots of different things. As Clare said, the problem is if the bacteria get into the wrong places- that’s when they can make us poorly.

      Absolutely! Soap and water is much better than alcohol gel (which you should only use if your hands look clean). And handwashing stops lots of diseases.
