Our brains signal to our gut that we are hungry and when we eat our body breaks down the food into smaller molecule like glucose through a process called digestion. Digestion is physical and chemical. For example, we chew our food to physically break the food into smaller bits and we also have chemical molecules called enzymes that break down the food.
But, not all the food we eat can be digested or broken down. The parts that cannot be digested are waste and we need to get rid of them. That is why we do number 2. Number 2 is all the undigested food leaving our bodies. This is food that we can no longer get nutrients from and our body cannot break down.
