I discovered that a species of dolphin that eats squid (which themselves eat shellfish) is often infected with Toxoplasma (a microscopic parasite that causes disease in humans) while another species of dolphins living in the same waters, that doesn’t eat squid, is not infected with toxoplasma. This told me humans can get infected with toxoplasma if they eat shellfish. This knowledge is now used worldwide to reduce toxoplasma infection.

I look at how bacteria interact with one another, I was looking at how they swim by themselves on plates and had some spare so made them swim towards each other. I thought maybe one would swim quicker but you’d just not be able to tell BUT one bacteria repelled the other and left a halo which was clear compared to the rest of the plate that was cloudy from where the bacteria had grown!!
