Dendritic cells are an important part of the immune system identifying invading pathogens, so if they fail by not working efficiently, the immune system might not be as effective in fighting off an infection. However, they also play a key role in your body detecting potentially cancerous cells and killing these before they form serious cancers. So, the person might be at higher risk of cancer too.
