The same thing that happens if you have too much of other food groups, your energy input is more than your energy output so you lay down stores of energy as glycogen, in other words, you put on weight!
everything in moderation is good!. So same thing if you eat too much of one thing eg carbohydrates there will be problems. Carbohydrates form glucose which will be stored as glycogen and too much of this will result in obesity, heart disease risk, diabetes. So make sure you have a healthy all round diet!
