Helloo, I hope you are doing good. Thank you for your question, its a good one 🙂
So, yes, I was sad when I moved to Scotland at 7. Moving is always hard. I had to say goodbye to my best friend in Nigeria and when I left there was no way to keep in touch with all my friends. It’s scary as well because you never know what your new life will be like.
It took time to adjust because Scotland is very cold compared to Nigeria but also the food was very different. Thankfully, when I moved and I started school, I got a buddy called Anne and she was really kind. She showed me around the school and I was a bit shy but I slowly started making friends in class. I realised I did not need a lot of friends just 2/3 close friends and we would play together at break time.
Before I knew it I wasn’t sad anymore, I had new friends and I even had a Scottish accent haha. Now, Scotland is home for me. It takes time but when you move to a new place, it slowly begins to feel more familiar like a new home.
