• Question: If someone got fixed from every medical problem they had with surgery, couldn't they possibly live forever?

      Well firstly it depends if you cut out something important! If you had liver failure, cutting out your liver wouldn’t help unless you had another one to replace it.
      Also many areas of the body cannot be surgically treated such as the inner parts of the brain.

      So no, currently there are many cases where surgery wouldn’t fix a medical problem.

      If you had a constant supply of new tissues and organs and the ability to access all parts of the body in order to perform surgery… then possibly…

      We still have to assume that these organs don’t get rejected by the body. That people don’t get infections from the surgery. That all the stitches hold together. And I’m sure there are a myriad of other complications…
