Similarly to Ollie, I have always loved animals. When I was 10 I found out that you could have a career as a zoologist – someone who studies animals. It wasn’t until I was 15/16, when I started really enjoying Biology at school, and was good at it compared to other subjects I was studying, that I started to think, what do I need to do to actually try and make this work. So I chose my A’levels knowing that I wanted to go to university to study Biology.

I remember as a child I used to say I wanted to be a scientist. But it was only after I went to uni at 17 that I realised I wanted to really to be one
