  Maybe someone who works with electronics, a product designer, an engineer and many more jobs. In my job, I often need to work out how I can safely include electronics in a product or piece of test equipment, without giving the user an electric shock. It’s really important!

  I would agree with Jenny. It is very important in electronics as electrical devices create heat, but they stop working if they get too hot. It’s very important that there are good thermal conductors to get rid of the heat. It’s also important in building applications, you want to know what will be a good insulator and keep the house warm. Understanding how and why materials behave the way they do is important for most jobs.
