• Question: Can axolotls go on land too?

      No, normally axolotls do not grow out of their larval forms and live underwater throughout life. In contrast, newts, which are closely related to axolotls, go through a larval aquatic form (which resembles axolotls!) and then undergo metamorphosis, develop lungs and change their skin (among other changes) and leave the water to go on land. Salamanders are fascinating! 🙂
