My favourite scientist would have to be Marie Curie, as I think she did a lot for science, both discovering and developing radioactive elements that are now used in radiation therapy for cancer patients.

There are so many inspiring scientists, it is hard to pick one. The first one that came to my mind though, was Mary Anning. I am a chemist, but I have a curious interest in dinosaurs, fossils and paleontology. Mary Anning was a fossil collector and paleontologist from Dorset, and found huge numbers of fossils in her life, including ichthyosaur and plesiosaur skeletons. To be honest I’m just a bit jealous of how many fossils she found in her life!
