        Hello

The number of experiments I do each day varies a lot depending on what I’m doing and how complicated the experiment is.

If I am doing straightforward organic synthesis I sometimes have up to 3 experiments going. However, if I am doing something more involved that requires constant sampling then I just do one at a time so I don’t get confused! So I guess this means it averages out to about one a day. The other thing is that often experiments take more than a day – often you have to leave something overnight and then finish it the next day, so sometimes you don’t even finish one experiment a day!

From experience, I find it’s much better to do fewer experiments really well and make sure you get all the data and conclusions you can from it, than try to do more experiments quickly and miss something important.

        hope that helps!
        Jo
