        To be honest the opportunity kind of opened up for me although I would claim as a result of lots of hard work to impress the right people 🙂

        I applied for the job I have now and was very happy to be offered a place, so I accepted it and then I had to pick my project – it was just luck that I ended up really liking my project!

        I knew that I wanted to do a PhD in the area of Chemistry that I work in (Structural Biology), so I applied for one. Despite not getting that PhD, one of the interviewers passed my name on to my supervisor who was looking for a PhD student. Luckily I was really interested in the project, so I gladly took the opportunity!
