• Question: what would happen if a black hole hit a black hole

      That’s a black hole merger! When two black holes collide they make gravitational waves, the exact kind detected by LIGO. The sad part is that nothing can escape a black hole, so we can’t see them… like hearing the bang of a firework without the pretty lights 🙁

      There was a recent study that showed for a short while the new black hole made by the two black holes hitting each other would be a really weird shape (like an 8 shape) and to turn into a sphere it will emit gravitational waves.
