• Question: is there a type of technology that is most useful to you as a scientist?

      I really need super fast computers.
      The stuff we use in gaming PCs is also really useful for science! We do lots of big calculations and we need to do them quickly.
      If I went back 10 years, it would take a month to do a calculation that only takes me a few hours now. So I’m very grateful we have better computers!
      We have to keep improving technology to keep up, otherwise there will be too much science and not enough computing power!

      For me the most useful thing is my laptop because I have a lot of information of galaxies (hundreds of thousands!) and i need to make lots of calculations on them. If I were to do it by hand it would take me a very long time. My computer is great because I can tell it to work like a calculator and help me do my calculations on every single galaxy one after another automatically
