0 Question: Why do we have toenails? Keywords: human body, nail, toenail Asked by 1drawsome to Cathal, Daphne, Darren, Jon, Katherine on 15 Mar 2012.
Darren Logan answered on 15 Mar 2012:
Nails are modified versions of claws. Claws evolved for fighting, digging or scraping – for protection or to help find food. Evolution changes things slowly, so even if we don’t need then now they are evidence of our past.
