• Question: Hello Gemma! I would just like to ask you a question. Does everything around us have genes? Do objects even have genes, or is it just living things?

      No – just living things have genes (people, animals, plants, fungi, algae, bacteria, viruses, and protozoa). In most of these organisms the genes are made of DNA but in some viruses they are made of a similar chemical called RNA.
